SEQUENCING BATCH REACTOR

Bio-smart’s SBR systems have helped residential and commercial projects overcome wastewater challenges for years.
A sequencing batch reactor is a fill-and-draw activated sludge system for wastewater treatment. Oxygen is bubbled through the wastewater to reduce biochemical oxygen demand (BOD)and chemical oxygen demand (COD), producing a high-quality effluent with a low turbidity and nitrogen levels capable of meeting effluent quality standards.

The SBR accomplishes equalization, aeration, and clarification in a timed sequence in a single reactor basin. By varying the operating strategy; aerobic, anaerobic, or anoxic conditions can be achieved to encourage the growth of desirable micro-organisms.
